Consulting: Climate resilience for Anglian Water’s asset managment

Climate resilience for Anglian Water

Anglian Water commissioned Paul to establish a methodology for assessing their assets for resilience to climate change. A methodology was produced, based on the best available climate science and advice from one of the UK’s foremost climate scientists and was peer reviewed by the Committee for Climate Change. Paul worked with the University of Leeds to run climate projections, such as heatwaves, cold snaps, sea surges and this data was then feed into the asset management investment cycle. This enabled asset managers to consider how the asset currently responds to climate impacts, such as overheating, and consider what investment might be required to manage that risk knowing the likely projection out to 2065.

Paul’s expertise, credibility and networks meant that he could access leading scientists for guidance and obtain university support to run complex climate models.
