In this article Paul explores the importance of generating social outcomes through development and construction activities. Today the Social Value Act allows businesses to demonstrate how their activities can benefit the local economy in public sector tenders for work. Paul designed and implemented an approach to social value whilst at Balfour Beatty, and was director of Lendlease’s not-for-profit enterprise BeOnsite which he describes in the article.
