Paul worked with Cory Riverside Energy to advise them on strategy to deliver social value as part of their waste management service to a London borough. The bid was successfully and they secured a significant multiple million pound nine-year contract.
Under the tender evaluation scoring system, social value was a sizeable percentage and certainly not something you would want to lose points on. Paul’s expert knowledge in social value, his expertise on London politics both local and wider – gained through his role as a London Sustainable Development Commissioner – and his business networks including social enterprise groups, enabled him to help Cory Riverside Energy establish new partnerships to deliver realistic targets in social value. Paul reviewed the bid to ensure it was credible and demonstrated that the company recognised the local needs and also their own ability to delivery. For example in training and capacity building, apprenticeships and support to the local community.
