Several local press covered the story that new species of butterflies had been found by a local resident, Paul Toyne. Here is one article in the South London press.
Many years later Isobel Talks contacted Paul for helping in finding the butterfly named after her. With Paul’s help she went back to Ecuador in her gap year before university to find her butterfly in Podocarpus National Park. This successful trip generated more publicity to highlight the biological importance of this part of Ecuador.
